Postman’s Uniform


First Day Cover

Pos Malaysia has issued a series of stamps on the postman's uniforms in conjunction with World Post Day.
The stamps which come in three designs of postman's uniforms over the years will be on sale at all Pos Malaysia branches on Monday.
Pos Malaysia Stamp and Philatelic Division head Yasmin Ramli said the collection would feature the postman's uniform according to the changing era in the 1950's, 1970's and 1990's in conjunction with World Post Day on Oct 9.
She said the 1950's design would be in 60sen denomination while the 1970's and 1990's designs would respectively be sold at 80sen and RM1 each.

This is a very special set of stamp in terms of design. Firstly, it is printed with hot stamp foiling on most stamps. In addition, the 60 sen stamps featuring the coins are hexagonal in shape, complete with embossing to bring out the intricate details on the coin.

750 Years Melaka


The stamp issue entitled "750 Years of Melaka" was released on 7 Oct 2012 (Sunday). However, post offices nationwide only sold the philatelic products of this stamp issue on 8 Oct 2012 (Monday). The stamp issue was released in conjunction of a stamp exhibition organised by Philatelic Society of Malaysia on 7-13 Oct 2012 in Melaka, and the stamps started being sold on 7 Oct 2012 at the stamp exhibition venue. This stamp issue comes with a set of two stamps and a miniature sheet. In additional to these, an overprint miniature sheet was also released. However, this overprint miniature sheet was only sold at the exhibition stamp, not post offices nationwide.

Malaysian Festivals Series II

First-day cover(F D C)

Pos Malaysia is launching its newest range of stamps titled “Malaysian Festivals Series 2” to commemorate the various festivities celebrated by Malaysians.

The first three are celebrated nationwide while the Kaul Festival and Regatta Lepa are celebrated only in Sarawak and Sabah, respectively.

The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II

Pos Malaysia launched its latest series of stamps in conjunction with Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee and to commemorate the royal visit of Britain's Prince William, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Stamps

The stamps feature two designs, both of which are bordered with silver ink.

One features a “stamp on stamp” design, with an older stamp released on June 2, 1953 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's coronation in the centre and the other features a photograph of Prince William and Kate Middleton to commemorate their visit. The stamps cost RM1.50 each.

Folders and first-day covers without stamps are sold at RM5.50 and 50 sen each, respectively.Full sheets of ten stamps each can be purchased for RM15 at all Pos Malaysia outlets while stocks last.Two first-day cover designs is available for sale, the first is at RM3.50 featuring the two stamps, while the other, with a miniature sheet of stamps, at RM2.50 each.
